Today we pray for…

For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:11-13; 19).

On this last day of the retreat, we invite you to do ALL that you desire in and through each lady present.

Father, we ask for special grace for these ladies to learn to live and adapt to a foreign culture, where oftentimes electricity, clean water, cell phone coverage, and Internet access are a luxury, and where personal safety is not a given. We pray particularly for the single women. When things fall apart in their homes, or their cars break down, would You provide the resources to help them out?

In the Latin American culture “singleness” is commonly misunderstood, so for these dear single workers, it can be difficult and tiring to prove their “value”. It may be these women want to get married but haven’t met the right guy. We ask You, Father, that they may be “adopted” by a South American family, as well as a team family, so as to have a cultural reference for their “belonging”. May they enjoy healthy friendships with families in their area.

When they need to have an advocate for their cause, will You lay it on a man’s heart to defend her. We ask for particular sensitivity on the part of field leaders to include the singles as fully-valued teammates. As they attend the Thrive retreat, may they enjoy connecting with other single women and share their hearts – may it be like a refreshing glass of cold water to them. We ask for an abundance of laughter to flow and be a revitalizing part of their soul renewal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
