Today we pray…
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday (Psalms 91:1-6).
Lord, we pray for the ladies’ physical and spiritual protection and that of their families – particularly for those living in unstable areas. You know that gangs, drugs, illegal arms, spiritism, and sexual slavery are a reality in many areas. We ask that You give them wisdom, discernment, and a strong sense of Your presence. Help them not to live in constant fear. May they be able to maintain a “refuge” in their homes for their families. If they’ve been robbed, re-establish a sense of safety. Help them teach their children to be “street savvy” without living in anxiety. We ask that the women will acknowledge this and be able to process this reality at the retreat with others who understand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
