________________________ DAY 13 – TRANSITIONS________________________
God, we ask you to give these ladies wise minds and spirits attuned to your will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that they’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of them as they work hard in his orchard. As they learn more and more how God works, they will learn how to do their work. We pray that they’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul – not the grim strength of gritting their teeth but the glory-strength You give. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes them strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for them.
Colossians 1:9-12 (The Message)
Today we pray for attendees: Sharla, Erica, Phyllis, and Joanie
Changing from one ministry to another, usually in a different location (and at times a different country), takes courage and lots of energy. Saying good-bye well (to people, places, and things) will help the transition. But, there is a loss no matter the level of excitement or conviction that the Lord wants you to move on. Father, wrap your arms around each woman and her family members during these changes. Help them press through the pain to experience joy as they see Your will unfold.
Heavenly father, I/we thank you for those who have been won to Christ in Croatia. The deep impact of historic and recent hatred between Croat, Serb, and Bosnian on every aspect of national life may hamper the nation for generations to come. I/we pray that, through Christ, true reconciliation will be achieved. Thank you, Lord, that the compassionate ministry of both foreign and indigenous agencies in dispensing aid, giving trauma therapy, and loving those who have suffered, has won much credit for the gospel. I/we pray for these ongoing outreaches and their lasting spiritual impact.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
