This picture was taken in Southeast Asia. I had been on the field for 8 months when I took it. We went to the beach as a team. It was a pivotal time for our team, which felt a bit fragmented and disconnected. We had 2 new units, me being one of them and I felt a lack of connection and belonging.
The loss of the closeness to my friends back home was intensifying as time was passing and I was yet to feel close to my team. This trip was the beginning of some closer connections with my teammates and I began to feel more of a sense of belonging.
I was reminded of God’s power and might as I watched the waves forcefully crash into the rocks.
