Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their life.
Proverbs 22:6
(Burkina Faso / Bobo Dioulasso, West-Africa) It is always a joy to see children explore new things, especially in a country like Burkina Faso.
The girls in the picture might not learn as fast as the average American kid does, but seeing their eagerness to learn makes up for that. The level of education is often poor and insufficient, something the American music teacher didn’t realize before coming.
Teaching these kids how to play the recorder might not have been the main purpose of her visit to West-Africa. Spending time with these kids with patience and love not only makes the students extremely happy, but often also brings healing to our own hearts. If you think your (music) talent is of no use in Africa, think again. God has given us all unique talents and He smiles when we put them to good use.
