Therefore, a God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts (Colossians 3:12-15).
Father, we bring before You Cheryl, Carissa, Janice and Amber today. Lord, we ask that Your Spirit will reveal any areas of unforgiveness among your workers. We battle an enemy who uses relational wounds to divide us in our goal of seeing Your Kingdom expanded. We pray against unforgiveness between team members, but also against any event (a theft, injury, or some sort of violation) that may stir up feelings of discontent, anger or even hatred toward a person or worse yet, a culture. Holy Spirit, do Your work in each of the ladies to bring about reconciliation and clean hearts before You while they are at the retreat.
We also want to praise you, Lord, for the dramatic growth in the number of evangelical churches in the Philippines in the last 30 years and for their increased spiritual unity. We are also excited about the 300,000-plus Filipino intercessors who have committed themselves to pray for the nation. As the Filipino Evangelicals have multiplied so, too, have the challenges. We pray for the spiritual health of the Church. We ask that there be solid discipleship for the new believers and pray against complacency and second-generation nominalism. We praise you that training and discipling new leaders is a priority, and we thank you, Lord, for many Filipino leaders with national and international influence. We thank you also that they have become a significant missionary sending church. Thank you, Lord, for the work you are accomplishing in the world.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
